Shiatsu is a natural healing discipline, springing from the same principals as acupuncture. It works by stimulating the body’s energy flow to promote good health. It uses few of the usual massage techniques such as rubbing and stroking, instead a still, relaxed pressure is applied at various points on the body with the hand or thumb, an easy leaning of the elbow or a simple rotation of a limb. It almost seems a lazy activity but these uncomplicated movements subtly work internally on the body.
